The Original Magnus Robot Fighter

    (Valiant, 1995)
™ and ©1995 Voyager Communications, Inc.

Valiant comics reprints the stories originally seen in 1963 in the pages of Gold Key’s Magnus, Robot Fighter. Beautiful artwork now printed on high quality paper makes this a comic that is better than it ever was! One can imagine what it must have been like to have read this comic way back when, and even though the premise of the story may seem done to death, (Man vs. Evil Robots) the writing holds up in that quaint, rustic way that old science fiction does.

In issue one, Leeja Clane, girlfriend of Magnus, is kidnapped by the automatons of the evil, steel-skinned Mekman. With Leeja held hostage, Magnus must cooperate with the monstrous machinations of Mekman (Oh! The alliteration!). He manages to free Leeja and escape. Now in order to stop the evil scheme, Magnus must fight—you guessed it—his robot double!
