Michael Redmond has a friend, a street poet named Ray, who makes his living telling short poems about life. Ray, as they say, is a character, but a lovable one at that. His concerns range from supporting the Red Cross to the plight of working mothers to people who burn flags. He tells it like he sees it, and each day, he has a new poem about it.

Redmond worked with Ray to bring his poetic works to comic form. The result is this rather obscure but enjoyable four-issue set of graphic novels. The truly devoted are also given a 900 number in the back where they can call to hear the “rap of the day”—direct from Ray.
