It’s hard to tell whether this is a series based on an action figure, or the action figure is based on the series. In either case, the title character is the beautiful and well-endowed Victoria Strauss, a star-spangled heroine who protects America against a variety of supernatural enemies (such as the dragon that tried to lay waste to New York in issue #1). The force behind the dragon was villainess Maxilla Maw, who sought to break the spirit of Americans. Like Wonder Woman, American Woman has a mythic connection, in this case to Mt. Wisdom, an idyllic refuge where she cavorts with boyfriend Eric Knight, when not saving the world.
