Image and Joe Pruett’s new Desperado join publication forces to reprint the best from the anthology Pruett edited during the 90s. The credits for the stories make for a powerful rolodex of brand–name talent. Notables include Alan Moore, who provides a few songs for illustration (including a team–up with Dave Gibbons), and Paul Pope, who makes some of the collection’s best uses of the short story format. Many of the stories are funny, a few are downright horrifying, all have excellent art. It may not please every reader in its entirety, but it will certainly provide something for everyone.
