I Knew the Wind Was Cold…
(Cloudwrangler, 2022)
A frightened girl on a lonely highway. A dark swamp filled with eldritch, poisonous revenge. A cursed gunslinger who stalks werewolves in the Old West. And a dirtbag hunter who's about to get what's coming to him. Four twisted tales of terror, all with a country-western twang to 'em. All of these macabre tales have their inspiration in old Western ballads, Southern poetry, or wild country songs. They twist those iconic tones and sad melodies into horrifying yarns. Each story is written by Jeff Rider with some of the best indie artistic talent around, including Marika Brousineau, Keith Grassmick, Stan Chou, Sean Dicker and more. The collection is a 40-page single issue, featuring 4 short stories and commentary on their creation and inspirations.
