The title says “Sourcebook,” but it arguably should say “Gallery,” since this resource is little more than a pin-up book.

There is info on each member, the enemies, and some history, but only about a paragraph or two each in most cases. And what’s this? Panthro and Cheetarah, two of the most popular cast members, have to share a page?

The art is lovely enough, from the Arthur Adams cover to the final members-of-Udon entry. In between readers will find Ashley Wood, Humberto Ramos, Jim Lee, and plenty of others. The text, however, is superimposed in translucent boxes, a distressing trend that is growing in popularity. Ostensibly intended to allow the reader to view the art through the text, the process actually serves the dual purposes of obscuring the art and making the text difficult to read.

The pin-ups are nice and the package will provide data on the Thundercats. But it falls way short of expectations.
