With a growing number of Marvel’s super-heroes seeking the good life out on the western seaboard, it seemed only too natural for Hawkeye, an early Avenger himself, to form a west coast division. By doing so, they could more quickly deal with any emergencies that threatened their section of the country. Thus was born the West Coast Avengers.

Hawkeye gathers together a collection of great super-heroes, including his wife Mockingbird, along with Iron Man, Wonder Man, and Tigra. The new team soon got its baptism by fire as it faced both new foes and dark memories from the Avengers’ past.
