Told from the perspective of each of the members, this one-shot pays homage to the Stan Lee and Jack Kirby Fantastic Four classics of the 1960s. Although not part of Marvel Universe continuity—Marvels Comics are a series of fictional titles that exist in the Marvel Universe—the lineup remains the same: Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic, a scientific genius with elastic powers; his wife Susan Richards, otherwise known as the Invisible Woman; her brother Johnny Storm, the Human Torch; and Ben Grimm, the Thing, the man with a body of rock and the heart of a teddy bear. A picnic turns into a confrontation with the Fantastic Four’s oldest foe, the Mole Man.
