Corazón del Norte

    (Editorial de la Parra, 1968-1969)

Serial publication presenting the adventures of Sergeant Alan Baker. Historically, the series began in “Pepín” as the adaptation of the North American film “Heart of the North”, directed by Lewis Siller; but it later went beyond the original story and Martínez Carpineiro continued to exploit Alan Baker in numerous adventures over the years.

This edition from the late 1960s was the last reincarnation of the hero. “Corazón del Norte” was initially published in “Pepín” between 1938 and 1947; In 1945 the series also appeared in the Sunday supplement of “Esto” (sports newspaper from the same editor of “Pepín”). At the beginning of the fifties, when “Paquito” - also published by Editorial Panamericana - stopped being a miscellaneous magazine to dedicate itself to complete comic series, “Corazón del Norte” occupied the 32 pages of the Thursday edition. In 1957 Editorial Reyes launched a new biweekly version and, finally, after a few years out of circulation, in the sixties EDPA relaunched this edition.
