Prince and the New Power Generation: Three Chains of Gold
(Piranha, 1994)
™ and ©1994 Paisley Park Enterprises
Pop icon Prince stars in this fantasy/adventure tale. It begins when Prince and his latest band, the New Power Generation, tour Erech, a country located “somewhere in the Middle East.” Prince’s raunchy brand of funk brings scandal and controversy to that country, but it also wins him the admiration of Princess Mayte. Before he left to return home, Mayte spent a charmed afternoon with Prince, and gave him a golden chain as a mark of affection.
Unbeknownst to Prince, Erech’s leader had planned to step down and hand over rule of the kingdom to Mayte. This did not suit her brother Tammuz, and he slew the leader in order to wrest control of the kingdom for himself. But to do so, he would need to possess the three chains of gold which together designated the kingdom’s rightful ruler—one of which now hung from Prince’s neck. If it meant separating the chain from Prince, the power-mad Tammuz would gladly separate Prince’s head from his shoulders!
