Amy Winston was just a normal young girl on the eve of her thirteenth birthday. There would be many presents given to her the next day, but one would be very different from the normal Barbie dolls. A strange creature has put a gem among the presents—a gem that changes thirteen-year-old Amy Winston into the woman Amethyst, lost princess of Gemworld.

Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld is a tale of magic and fantasy meant to appeal to young women as well as young men. The twelve-issue maxi-series is an epic adventure as Amy/Amethyst seeks to regain her lost heritage, and save the Violet Realm from the dark lord, Opal.
