The Little Archie concept was originally intended as just a one-shot idea of what Archie and the gang looked like when they were kids. The concept proved popular and started a long-running comic book series, of which this is a spin-off. Little Archie moved into another level altogether with this title, by minimizing the comedic elements and playing up the adventure elements à la Life With Archie to great effect and the always-excellent artwork by Bob Bolling. The quality of these stories prompted the Archie publisher to reissue many of these adventure stories into a paperback compilation years later as a “Best of.”
