The Mask: Virtual Surreality

    (Dark Horse, 1997)
™ and © Dark Horse Comics, Inc.

Our hero Stanley Ipkiss is intrigued by a late-night infomercial touting the latest and greatest in home entertainment: virtual surreality. According to Dr. Buzz Hedgaymes, the device is powered by a person’s imagination and its virtual worlds are endless. But the inventor needs Edge City’s most vivid imagination and Stanley’s alter ego, the Mask, possesses it. There are the usual references to pop culture and a fast paced romp into the vast comic wasteland (oops). The real fun begins when guest writers and artists such as Sergio Aragones and Mike Mignola infuse Mask-type kinetic energy with their characters and settings.
