Robin Red and the Lutins
(Animated Comics Enterprises, 1986-1987)
™ and © 1986 Pat Boyette
Robin Red is a woodcutter who becomes a hero in Pat Boyette’s whimsical fantasy. After Prince Bonny is kidnapped by the garlic-chomping Gringes and taken to the hellish Netherworld, Red is asked to rescue him. Having no weapons himself, he is given a sword by the slumbering wizard Merlin, who was transformed into a tree. Obviously written for children, Robin Red and the Lutins eschews the violent content typical of the genre for mild action and innocuous humor.
