From the Slings & Arrows Comic Guide:

Dell commissioned Christmas stories for a series of specials starring Disney characters published annually between 1949 and 1958, with Gold Key continuing the tradition in the 1960s with slimmer or reprint volumes. When Gladstone acquired the Disney license they revived the Christmas specials, populating these 100-pagers with the best from previous volumes and other stories with a Yuletide theme (Uncle Scrooge #47 in #2). Both contain meaty chunks of Carl Barks material, but there’s plenty to recommend them beyond that, with Al Hubbard’s Three Little Kittens in #1 and Paul Murry’s strips in #2 particularly delightful. ~FP
