The Sword of Dracula

If you were wondering if there could possibly be a new variation on vampire fighting that we haven’t seen before, well, how about Our Army at War with Dracula? The relentless military unit pursuing Vlad Tepes in a present-day France has cute anti-vampire weapons, which is good, since writer Jason Henderson has given Dracula a new ability: complete control of blood, as in forming it into the titular sword (which, frankly, seems like the power of a bad Savage Dragon villain).

It’s drawn in a smudgy, deep-black art style that makes the proceedings look like something you’d find in 2000 A.D., and that’s a compliment. This one creeps up on you, though it fails to answer the obvious question: If Dracula is so insanely powerful and survived for so long, why not just drop a nuclear bomb on the bloodsucker?
