The Flash Secret Files

    (DC, 1997-2001)
™ and ©1997 DC Comics

By 1997 the editors at DC Comics realized what complicated and elaborate histories some of their more venerable titles had accumulated. One of the characters most in need of this treatment was the Flash, who has existed in one form or another since the 1940s, and whose existence is the lynch pin on which much of the history of the DC Universe turns.

The Flash Secrets Files relates the definitive origins of the three men who were known as the Flash: Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Wally West. It also spotlights articles on attendant characters like Impulse, Max Mercury, Jesse Quick, and Professor Zoom. As related in this title, Barry Allen’s personal sacrifice of his life in Crisis on Infinite Earths was not the final contribution he made to the legend of The Flash.
