Robo-Hunter

    (Eagle, 1984)
™ and ©1984 Eagle Comics

Sam Slade (“That’s S-L-A-Y-E-D to you!”) is a robo-hunter. His job is to track down and deactivate robots who have gone bad and turned on their human owners. Supposedly, such behavior is impossible. Unfortunately, it happens all the time.

Not long ago, Slade had been accosted by two men from the International Space Commission. They offered him a choice: heading off into space to search for missing colonists, or taking a bullet in the head. Naturally, Slade chose the former option. The next thing he knew, he was on a ship headed for the planet Verdus. Once he arrived, he would find a scene out of his wildest nightmares. The robots who had been sent to settle the planet had taken the human colonists prisoner. It was up to Slade to best a planet full of robots, or else end up as fertilizer.

Sam Slade, Robo-Hunter originally appeared in 2000 A.D.
