ACG Christmas Special

    (Avalon, 1999)
™ and ©1999 Roger Broughton

The title reads Christmas Horror but the indicia indicates the title’s name as ACG Christmas Special. Neither is completely accurate. Despite the depiction of a maniacal Santa Claus on the cover, only one story mentions Christmas and then only marginally. The single reoccurring element is the theme of toys as instruments of revenge and justice. From action figures that foil the deadly plans of airplane hijackers to a guardian angel teddy bear that rescues a little girl from kidnappers, as well as neglectful parents, these are toys that are not to be toyed with.

Jack Abel, Mike Zeck and Pat Boyette are among the journeyman artists who contribute to this unusual title.
