The legendary early 70s run by writer Roy Thomas and artist Barry Smith on Conan the Barbarian is reprinted in this British digest-sized series. Thomas and Smith received massive acclaim for successfully adapting the late Robert E. Howard’s pulp hero to comic books. Although much of the praise was due to Smith’s detailed, lovingly crafted illustrations – much more sophisticated and realistic art than mainstream comics had seen at the time – Thomas was faithful to the character’s roots, sculpting literary, poetic narratives.
