Bill, the Galactic Hero
(Topps, 1994)
©1994 Byron Preiss Visual Publications, Inc.
Lowly fuse tender Bill became a hero when he helped save his space ship, the Christine Keeler, when it fell under attack. In doing so, however, he lost his left arm. The inept ship’s doctors then made a bad situation far worse when they replaced his lost left arm with a spare right one. And this, unfortunately, was only the beginning of Bill’s problems as he found himself “rewarded” with another seven-year tour of duty. His only hope of surviving his term was to keep in mind the all-important rules of military life: (1) Keep your mouth shut, and (2) Don’t volunteer for anything.
In 1994, Topps released the three-issue mini-series, Bill, the Galactic Hero. The story was taken from the books by science-fiction great Harry Harrison. Art was handled by Mike Gustovich and Randy Dunn.
