Funny Films
(ACG, 1949-1954)
©1951 Michel Publications, Inc.
Funny Films from ACG was a late-1940s entry into the funny animal field, already fairly crowded by that time. Characters in its pages included cat and dog comedy team Puss and Boots, wisecracking rabbit Blunder Bunny, owl detective Whoo-Dunnit, and western dog marshal Alaki Ike. The hook to Funny Films is that, because all of its characters are based on (forgotten) film cartoons, each story starts with a room full of kids watching the comics story being projected on a movie screen, and film-related elements such as “screen snapshots” are featured on the cover.
