The comic-book industry is in dire need of more youth-oriented, all-ages material, and this series is a good attempt at filling the need. The story contains many fairy-tale elements that will be familiar to young readers, and the videogame feel of the art should keep their attention. If you’re looking for something to read with your kids, you could do worse than this first issue.

Not exactly a take on Alice in Wonderland, this story does star Alice and her trip to Wonderland, but it also takes her into Oz and features Pinocchio, Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, and other familiar and new characters.

This story contains a lot of information and the introduction of, not just Alice, but a score of other main characters—potentially making it confusing to young readers. The inclusion of a few typos also detracts from the experience. If you aim a book at young minds, make sure that it is error-free so those that learn from it will do so correctly.
