This series of shorts focuses on the trails of a struggling artist trying to make a living at his craft while stuck in the boondocks of a western American desert. Stories have included Sally Struthers trying to get people to send “just three dollars” to feed a struggling cartoonist, and adventures in video game parlors. A far from lucrative encounter between a cartoonist and a disabled activist at a craft fair does not spare any involved, and ends with a graceful twist.

This book was published with the help of a Xeric Grant by cartoonist Andy Hartzell, who also creates daily comics on the Internet
