Guns of the Dragon

Inspired by the adventure serials of the 1930s, Tim Truman wrote and drew this four-issue mini-series of a high adventure tale in the early DC Universe. The series pits Enemy Ace, Bat Lash, and Biff Bradley against Vandal Savage, who is assisting Mao Tse-Tung to retrieve two magic swords that are prophesied to unite and strengthen China, currently torn with riots and revolts. The search leads them to Dragon Island, where they combat dinosaurs, shape-changing ninjas, sea serpents, and communists. A wild, action-packed story, Guns of the Dragon is a well-crafted homage to classic adventure pulp stories.
