Brandon Lee starred in 1994 film adaption of The Crow: The film is based on the 1989 comic book series by James O'Barr. Lee was a fan of the comic and brought his understanding of the source material to his portrayal of Eric Draven. He could quote lines from the comic and understood what made it special. He wanted to honor the comic's vision. He even wanted the film shot in black and white, like the graphic novel, to reflect it's atmosphere.
