Future Beat

This black-and-white science-fiction series from Oasis Comics featured two unrelated stories in its tone-setting first issue. The lead feature was the story of a future cop trying to take down a criminal organization and deal with a serial killer. The backup story, “The Exodus,” focused on the political and sociological struggles that take place on a spaceship containing what was once the population of Earth. Interesting stuff—especially the insightful, semi-Orwellian commentary of the backup feature—but, by and large, it was sketchily rendered with little attention given to background details.
