Daffy Duck

A reprinting in digest format of various short stories from DC’s Looney Tunes featuring that “despicable duck” of motion pictures and television, Daffy!

Daffy Duck was first seen in the 1936 short animated cartoon, “Porky’s Duck Hunt”, created by Fred “Tex” Avery and produced by Leon Schlesinger. In 1951, Daffy joined Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies produced by Western Publishing Company. A duck looking like Daffy had appeared in earlier issues, and one duck named “Daffy” but not looking at all like the current black-feathered wisecracker had also appeared. In 1953, Dell put out a one shot test issue in the Dell Four Color Comics series, number 457, of “Daffy” The first regular issue of Daffy followed two more in April of 1955. The title was changed to Daffy Duck in 1959, and switched over from Western to Gold Key in 1963.
