The mysterious foe Naraku continues to hound the team of Inu-Yasha, Lady Kagome, and the mighty monk Miroku. This time he uses the pawn of Sango, who has been misled to believe that Inu-Yasha is responsible for the murder of her clan of demon exterminators. A long time ago, the Priestess Midoriko was the bane of demons everywhere, who finally united against her. In a fatal battle, her soul and that of the demon horde became embodied in a jewel that ultimately magnifies the good or evil characteristics of its next owner. Will Inu-Yasha be able to break the jewel’s curse that claimed the life of his dear Kiyo?

Rumiko Takahashi continues to weave a rip-roaring adventure, balancing madcap humor, blood-curdling brawls, and mystical fables. Even the group’s confrontation with a pretentious but vicious water god evokes stirring emotions of dread, wonder, and surprise. Readers have come to expect as much, and Takahashi continues to keep them on the edge of their seats and begging for more.
