A pair of slackers pry themselves away from their video games long enough to discover the world has been taken over by zombies. Fortunately, these zombies are of the slow–moving variety, which leaves ample time for antic comedy, geeky hijinks, and more video games. Comedy takes precedence over horror as the two spend more time talking to each other than actually fighting zombies.

This 24 page black and white serial homage to 2004’s Shaun of the Dead movie features writers/illustrators C. Matthew Billman and Christopher M. Herndon in starring roles. Billman and Herndon divide the illustration duties, both taking a bare bones approach.

Wouldn’t it be cool if all of a sudden everyone else became zombies?

That is apparently the question that writer Matthew Billman and artist Christopher Herndon posed to each other. And, just as apparently, the answer was yes, but, since such an event isn’t going to happen, Billman and Herndon created this as an alternative to living their fantasies.

At least, it seems that way, since the pair cast themselves as the main characters. In fact, Billman seemingly indulges in another fantasy: to be able to walk around with no pants. Hopefully, this, too, is only acted out only within these pages.
As Herndon sits at home blasting zombies in a videogame, Billman barges in and announces that zombies are walking the streets for real. Overjoyed, the two arm themselves and go about whacking the undead, as they try to make their way to the mall to loot it.

This isn’t even a parody of any of the multitudes of zombie comics or movies out there. It’s simply a story driven by inspiration from these stories, and the creators don’t try to prove otherwise.
