Gen13: Grunge Saves the World

    (WildStorm, 1999)
™ and ©1999 WildStorm Productions, an imprint of DC Comics

All the Gen13 kids have gone on vacation, except for Grunge. The girls are camping out in the desert without a cell phone, and Bobby is riding his bike somewhere in Los Angeles. Just as Grunge settles into a Jackie Chan video marathon, a crisis strikes—and suddenly Gen13’s leader, John Lynch, has no one to turn to except Grunge.

Soon the unlikely duo find themselves stranded in a Himalayan mountain range, facing a supernatural challenge which has arisen from the site of an old Russian secret weapons program. Oksana Bathory, head of the program, seeks to conjure up a portal through which the dark gods of Hell will stride. With Lynch captured, only Grunge, his snowboard, and a sexy female werewolf stand in her way.

This one-shot issue also features a three-page preview of the Gen13 animated movie, containing storyboards for the movie produced by the film’s director (and writer/penciller of this issue), Kevin Altieri.
