Supposed descendents of the biblical Mary Magdalen, the Magdalena are an order of holy female warriors chosen to protect Mankind from the forces of darkness. In this second volume of the Top Cow series, a new woman has been chosen, but assuming the mantle of the Magdalena is the last thing Patience wants in her young life. Add to this the betrayal of a trusted ally, and the coming of a hell-spawned beast, and you get one hell of a start for a reluctant heroine-in-training.

The Magdalena plays freely and inventively with the darker side of the Christian mythos, and like other Top Cow “bad girl” titles (Witchblade, Tomb Raider), relies heavily on its art and the action to keep readers interested—both of which are as stunning as its scantily-clad heroine.
