Donald Pocket (Hjemmet)

    (Hjemmet / Egmont, 1968-Present)

Donald Pocket is a long-running Norwegian comic book series that began in June 1968 and continues to this day, making it one of the country’s most enduring Disney comic formats. Published originally by A/S Hjemmet and later by Egmont, the series collects Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge, Mickey Mouse, and other Disney characters into pocket-sized books, typically around 260 pages, designed for affordable, serialized entertainment.

The series quickly became a staple of Norwegian children’s comics, with its compact 12.5 cm × 19 cm format and glued spine making it easy to carry and read. Over the decades, Donald Pocket has published more than 560 issues, mixing reprints of classic Italian Disney stories (from Mondadori and later Disney Italia) with locally curated selections. Its longevity reflects both the popularity of Disney’s characters in Scandinavia and the strength of Norway’s comic book culture, where pocket-sized anthologies remain a beloved tradition.

This series reguarly reprinted issues mulitple times over the years, which differnt cover pricing, altered art, and even the page counts changed on some of these reissued books.
