Teenagents (Jack Kirby’s…)

    (Topps, 1993)
™ and ©1993 Jack Kirby

The Teenagents consist of Seera, a psychic; Kreech, a shapeshifter; Dijit, a smart-aleck technical genius; and their leader, the mighty Aurik. In truth, these are merely the latest of a long line of Teenagents, legends which this team hopes someday to be worthy of.

The team is based in the miraculous Inner City, a place inside the Earth which can be reached only by means of the Agents’ Omni-Bus. Their job is to act as policemen of sorts, stopping bad guys like the monstrous Blood Legion from threatening the “upper world” where we live.

The Teenagents were created by the legendary Jack Kirby. Now, under the writing pen of Kurt Busiek (Marvels), they became a four-issue mini-series for Topps. Although Kirby was not directly involved with this series, it bears all his hallmarks: action, adventure, and a real sense of fun (all too rare in comics today).
