The 1980s were a good time to collect Silver Age comics, as books were available for reasonable prices. Try buying those comics at today’s prices and more than likely you will be refinancing the house. Many comic book collectors stopped collecting in their early teens because it was a “kid thing.” The combination of childhood memories, media hype and inflation repeatedly influences market demand. DC has added to this highly volatile circumstance with this title. Historically, Action Comics introduced Superman to the world and its Silver Age begins with issue #225 and concludes in 1970. Notable character debuts during this era were Supergirl, Metallo and Congorilla.
