The Sewage Dragoon

The green, fin-headed Savage Dragon was created by Erik Larsen back when he was still a kid. Many years later, Larsen would roll out the Dragon as one of the premiere titles from Image Comics. Little could he have dreamed that his childhood creation would become so successful that the infamous Parody Press! would spoof it.

In the spoof, the green one is an ultra-powerful, if somewhat befuddled, super-hero. His real weapon, however, is the incredible odor that emanates from his armpits. Apparently, this little sewer urchin never learned the gentle art of bathing. It’s a bit of a one-joke premise, but this one-shot manages to amuse, particularly with the gag villains (e.g., bad guys “the Peanuts Gang”and an evil, gun-toting version of Sesame Street’s Ernie) and other comedic touches that artist Bill Maus excels at throwing into his work.
