Wasteland is a series of anthologies edited by comic industry legend, Mike Gold. The series collects three bizarre stories in each issue. The series kicks off with a tale by John Ostrander about a drug that will create the highest of highs, but will also cause death. One would think that a sure death would be enough of a deterrent to stop people from taking it. But then again, one never knows. Next comes a story about a futuristic society where people are married over the phone and abortions are retroactive, up to nine years. The third is a weird autobiographical tale written by Del Close.

Printed in full color, Wasteland first hit the stands in 1987. A critical, if not a commercial, success, it ran for eighteen issues.
