Moby Dick (Joma)

    (Ediciones Joma, 1966-1967)

Serial publication that presents a loose adaptation of the classic of literature “Moby Dick”, written by Herman Mellville in 1851, which narrates the voyage of the whaling ship Pequod, commanded by Captain Ahab, together with Ishmael and the harpooner Queequog in the obsessive and self-destructive pursuit of a great white sperm whale. The collection only relates to the original story in the name, as the adventures presented here are very different: Moby Dick faces various monstrous sea animals, such as sea serpents, semi-human amphibians, pterodactyls, etc. In addition to the white whale, two recurring characters appear in this collection: a man named Gomark, a benevolent and wise giant; and Iliana, a normal-sized woman who accompanies them on their adventures.
