The Amazing Adventures of Professor Jones
™ and ©1996 Atelier Lana
Translated from Japanese, this genuinely funny title features the exploits of Professor Jones, a somewhat befuddled archeologist, and his nervous and apprehensive assistant, Mr. Nakajima. Added to the expedition is the unassuming Mr. Chen, a native guide who is unaware that China and Japan are not connected.
While searching for the lost city of Tengul, the hapless trio uncovers an ancient temple and a beautiful bat-winged girl asleep inside. Her demonic appearance is a stark contrast to the innocence she exudes, and as she remembers more of her past her true nature becomes apparent.
The humor is derived from the sheer ineptness of Professor Jones and the dialogue between the characters that has the timing of a comedy routine.
