The romance comic was the best-selling genre of comics in the post-war era. Love Diary was targeted to teenage girls and young women, with “True Confessions”-type stories. The quality was generally competent— and standard for the time. Each issue also had the helpful advice of Ray Mann, “Love Diary’s Human Relations Counselor.” Ray Mann provided a text article, an advice column for the readers who (allegedly) had written in, and occasionally stepped into a comics story himself. A pretty good romance comic, and a good representation of post-war American society.
