Team One: WildC.A.T.s

Image Comics strives to give its readers a believable history to its young comic book universe. Characters like Glory, Troll, and Supreme, have already been given detailed backgrounds stretching back years into the past.

This two-issue series gives the same treatment to WildC.A.T.s, telling how a man called Baxter (the previous incarnation of WildC.A.T.s leader Jacob Marlowe) assembled a group of super-heroes into the first C.A.T. (Covert Action Team). This series lets the reader in on the secret past. Marlowe/Baxter runs a huge company as a front for his war on the evil Daemonites, a race of aliens who are trying to take over the planet. The original team, “Team One,” was made up of seven members: John Colt, who was the model for Spartan; Majestic, your basic superman; cold warrior Mason Kerouac, telepath Isaiah King; gung-ho soldier Marc Slayton; armored warrior Henry Bendix (a.k.a. Think Tank); and talkative Regiment.
