Camelot Eternal

Writer/inker Jim Calafiore’s Camelot Eternal represents a fairly ambitious undertaking: this black-and-white title is meant to flesh out and continue Sir Thomas Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur. In fact, like all epics, it begins in medias res, somewhere near the end of King Arthur’s battle with his son Modred. Here, Arthur again relies on Lancelot for aid and counsel, even though fate steps in and drives the handsome knight back into the arms of Guinevere, his king’s wife; and dissention swells in the ranks of the Knights of the Round Table. It’s intriguing stuff; unfortunately, the murky artwork makes the story difficult to follow.
