Bragade

When terrorists seize a skyscraper, (as in Die Hard), the team of heroes known as Bragade leaps into action. Sadly, that action consists mostly of bickering with each other and striking an impressive pose for the media.

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but for Parody Press! it’s the surest form of hilarity, even when the source material may be found wanting. In this case it is Brigade, which spun off from Youngblood. The satire is derived as much from the clichés of current comics, the creators and their attitudes, as the actual title being parodied.

Previous targets of Parody Press!’s barbs, Cable TV and The Unfunny X-Cons as well as the creator himself, Rob Liefeld, appear to illustrate some of the more unfortunate and overused conventions of the comics field, such as huge shoulder pads, belts on thighs, and an overabundance of angst-ridden mutants.
