Marvel Mangaverse: Punisher

As genre-bending and myth-rewriting becomes more popular, it was perhaps inevitable that super-heroes and manga would mix eventually. Seeing the Punisher re-written as a mob-battling ninja/geisha was pretty surprising, but with characters like “Sosumi Brown” and the “Skang Kee” crime family (Led by the lady Ho. “Skang Kee Ho” get it?), it’s obvious Peter David’s Punisher remake isn’t an entirely serious one.

As principal of a Tokyo private school, Sosumi Brown does more than grade papers; she’s also the scourge of the underworld, the crime-battling geisha, the Punisher. When the Skang Kee crime family calls in an American demon called “the Hulk,” it could be the end of a beautiful career. Will Sosumi’s sister Hashi rescue her or make matters worse?
