Nation of Snitches

Jon Hammer has watched a lot of television, judging from this story by him. Picture a game show that’s a cross between America’s Most Wanted and The Price is Right. It’s a show where people are rewarded with fabulous vacations and cash prizes for turning in their neighbors who may be serial killers.

Police are stumped by a series of murders in which the only common link is a bloody cross carved into the victim’s forehead. The press instantly assumes this is a series of Satanic cult murders, but wouldn’t Satanic cultists carve a pentagram instead? This is a truly satirical look at the dangers of Christian heavy metal music and what it can do to the minds of those janitors who have superior brain capacity and a calling to make the world a safer place.

More seriously, this is a great story, though very much for mature readers only.
