Flash: Our Worlds at War

    (DC, 2001)
™ and ©2001 DC Comics

The giant company-wide crossover event that infected the DC universe in 2001 was the “Our Worlds at War” event. Initiated by the “Devourer of Worlds,” Imperiex, who appears to have gone to the same tailor as Galactus, this storyline involved Doomsday, Brainiac 13, General Zod as well as Darkseid and the entire planet of Apokolips.

In Keystone City, The Flash is spearheading a scrap metal drive to manufacture a giant Boom Tube to neutralize Darkseid’s Parademons. Aiding him is Vic Stone, a.k.a. Cyborg, an old colleague from The Teen Titans. Once the Parademons arrive, the death toll is likely to rise. This eventuality awakens messenger of death known as The Black Racer in the paralyzed form of Willie Walker. When the Racer insists a little girl is meant to die, The Flash gathers her up and the race is on.
