Creative folks love mixing and mashing genres. The horror Western American manga No Man’s Land might be among the champs of genre splicing. In this book, a cowboy tale fits in nicely with manga storytelling techniques, which is not surprising given the numerous samurai stories that have been retold as westerns and vice versa.

Originally conceived as a reworking of Lone Wolf and Cub, the creators of the book have a good understanding of how westerns work and create something of a “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” dynamic among the primary characters, which include a demon hunter for hire who is haunted by a tragic past.
