Series continued from New Funnies (Walter Lantz…) #260, returns to New Funnies after issue #271

One of Dell’s anthology titles, TV Funnies began as New Funnies in the early 1940s and went through several title changes during its twenty-year run. TV Funnies focused primarily on the creations of Walter Lantz: Woody Woodpecker, Andy Panda, Homer Pigeon, Chilly Willy (a penguin), Oswald the Rabbit, and other funny animal characters whose appeal crossed over between comic books, movies, and television. Issues featured an assortment of stories from each character, plus one-page gag strips that Dell traditionally printed on the inside front and back covers. Early issues featured artwork by some of the heavy hitters of the funny animal style, including Walt Kelly (“Pogo”) and Carl Barks (Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck).
