A tie-in, prequel to the smash hit Universal movie Van Helsing, this is a story of the infamous Church-sanctioned monster-hunter seeking an evil spirit in the sewers beneath Paris. Caught between a demon possessing a girl and an abominable cadre of half-animal/half–man creatures created by the demented Dr. Moreau, Van Helsing uses all of his wit and fighting prowess to extricate himself from a sticky situation. Dark and moody artwork reminiscent of Bill Seinkeiwz’s work fills the pages of this introductory piece. Recommended for both fans of the horror genre or the movie.
