Daredevil’s father, Battling Jack Murdock lived by one rule: “The measure of a man is not in how he gets knocked down to the mat-it is in how he gets up.” Matt Murdock is uncertain about getting up. He has lost control of his life and wonders about the self-doubt slowly creeping into his soul.

Matt vividly remembers the events on that bittersweet night of his father’s biggest victory in the ring but the excitement of the moment clouds the hard scowls of men betrayed. Jack Murdock gave him a prized possession: a robe. A yellow robe soaked with the essence of a champion. He could feel the reverence and soak up the power within the fabric even without his heightened senses. The power displayed by Murdock in the ring could not prevent his cold-blooded murder from occurring hours later. Murdock raised his son to be a fighter. Now it’s time to step into the ring and fear be damned.
